Bear is a 4-year-old Golden Retriever that has grown up, roaming Montreux since he was 6 months old. His favorite aspects of the golf course are chasing golf balls on the range in the morning, and when called upon, chasing geese off the course! But he doesn’t stop there, any animal or bird seen roaming around Montreux, grabs Bears attention and warrants a quick chase off. Bear also enjoys long afternoon naps under Michael’s desk and playing in the office with his counterparts.
Michael Howard, assistant superintendent, is a 6-year GCSAA member and has spent his 6 years in Turf, helping maintain Montreux Golf and Country Club. Perched above Reno, in the Sierra Nevada mountains, Montreux experiences all 4 seasons, which allows Michael and Bear to enjoy many different activities throughout the year. Bear will find a body of water, whether on or off the golf course and especially enjoys racing through the snow. Michael enjoys skiing and golfing, as well as posting up on the couch with Bear, watching football and basketball.
